WE’RE TIRED 2019

This was my collegiate choreographic and creative directing debut. An excerpt of this work was shown at the Centre National de la Danse, Pantin, France during the summer of 2019.

This work in its entirety: We’re Tired

Original Journal Entry: “The book “Fight Club” was written and filmed as a satire, but instead has come to reaffirm some of the views formed by people who are part of the alt-right groups. This work will feature artist who identify as queer, and people of color. By creating this work with these specific body’s I have found a way to fight or protest this group of shitty people. This piece is heavily influenced by martial arts, breaking, and postmodern movement. Most of the research we will be doing is on men’s rights activists and alt right activists (because this is the what makes up most of the cult following of this film) and how we are dealing with the extreme growth of these beliefs that have become justified, and other topics that surround these different unethical obsessions with fight club. This piece is about fighting, everyone in this work is fighting, and I want to illustrate our experiences."
